Management teams often find it difficult to sustain focus on directing strategic change and on collaborating to achieve results that benefit the entire organization. Many product development and other cross-functional teams also fail to achieve their highest potential. This often occurs because team members are trained and motivated to succeed as individuals, not as collaborative team members.

We help you diagnose the specific needs of your teams and design a team development program to meet these needs. The following programs are designed to develop team leadership while building skills for ongoing effectiveness.

Team Leadership: Learning to Lead as a Team

This six-month program enables a team to develop and begin implementing a strategic plan based on a shared sense of responsibility for the outcomes. Part one is a three-day offsite designed to:

• Establish a common picture of current reality and its underlying drivers
• Develop commitment to a shared vision and mission
• Define strategic objectives
• Build consensus on roles to achieve the objectives
• Improve skills in working together as a team

Part two combines follow-up team meetings with individual coaching to implement the strategic objectives, engage in dialogue, learn from shortfalls, put corrections in place, and develop additional personal and team effectiveness skills.

Team Management: Building the Skills for Ongoing Effectiveness

Team performance can be significantly enhanced by increasing skills in:

• Clarifying and keeping agreements
• Productive conversations
• Meeting facilitation

In this two day team session, team members learn and practice skills for goal setting, clarifying agreements, planning ahead for communication breakdown and rebuilding agreements, and engaging in effective follow through. They’ll visit their real life challenges newly equipped with shared perspectives and skills to practice. The goal is to help the team become much more effective at getting the results it wants and have a much better time doing it.

We also offer customized workshops of varying lengths solely focused on meeting facilitation, holding difficult conversations, moving from blame to accountability, and clarifying and keeping agreements.
